Adjustment Panel:

I took this photo while my family and I were on vacation in Italy. This photo was taken at the Vatican Museum. The photo on the left is the raw photo from my camera while the one on the right was edited using the adjustment panel. The first adjustment panel I used was the levels panel. This panel allowed me to deepen the colors of the image. After that I used the contrast and brightness panel. I lower both the contrast and brightness to bring out the different colors. Lastly I used the spot healing brush to take out the time stamp and I used it to also take out the maintenance truck along with the street lamps.

Highlight and Shadow:

I took this photo during a vacation in France. I was at the top of the Eiffel Tower when I took this picture of the landscape. The photo on the left is the raw photo from my camera. The photo on the right was edited using highlight and shadow. I used the highlight and shadow tool to bring out the colors in the photo. In the original photo the colors are really faded and the image looks very dull. I adjusted the highlight on the photo to highlight the colors of all the buildings in the picture.

Adjustment layer:

I took this photo while I was in Venice Italy. I was up on top of the a tower in san Marco’s square and I snapped a photo of the entire city. The photo on the left is the raw photo that I took from my camera. The right photo was edited using the adjustment panel. I first selected the sky and lowered the contrast to make the clouds in the sky stand out. After that I selected the rest of the photo and change the saturation of the colors of the buildings. This brightened up the colors of the buildings. This overall brings the attention of the eye to each individual building instead of the entire photo.

Cropping Tool:

I took this photo during a vacation in France with my family. I was on the walkways of the seine river and I wanted to take a picture of the Eiffel Tower from a different angle. The photo on the left is the raw photo. The photo on the right was edited using the cropping tool. With the cropping tool I was able to eliminate a delivery truck that was in the picture along with the harsh grey wall in the bottom of the picture. I was also able to add a design principle (the rule of thirds) to the photo. Along with using the cropping tool I used the hue/saturation tool in the adjustment panel to change the sky in the background to make it seem less grey.

Sponge Tool:

I took this photo in Venice Italy on top of the tower in san Marco’s square. I took this photo of one of the big waterways in the city along with the great architecture.  The photo on the left is the raw photo while the photo on the right was edited using the sponge tool. Using the sponge tool I was able to saturate some areas and desaturate other areas. I saturate the sky the main building and the waterway to bring out all the colors in the image. I desaturated the buildings in the bottom left. Doing this I was able to draw attention to the waterways and the sea in the background.

Spot Healing Brush:

I took this photo in Rome Italy. The photo on the top is the raw photo from my camera while the other one is edited using the spot healing brush. With the spot healing I was able to edit out a bunch of obstructions. I was able to take out a bunch of light poles that blocked the view of the image. Along with that I was able to take out the people in the bottom center of the image. I liked the way the picture looked which is why I only used the spot healing brush.

Burn Tool:

I took this photo of saint peter’s square from  the top saint peter’s basilica in the Vatican City. The photo on the left is the raw photo while the one on the right was edited using the burn tool. Using the burn tool I was able to darken certain areas of the photo. The image overall was very bright so using the burn tool I was able to darken some areas, which in turn made some of the area's pop out. I used the burn tool on the sky and on the square to make it stand out from the rest of the image.

I took this photo in Piazza Navona in Rome Italy. I took a picture of the church in the square. The photo on the left came straight from my camera, while the right was edited using the grayscale tool. With the grayscale tool I was able to make the photo black and white. Then after using the grayscale tool I used the black  and white tool to bring out the many different shades in the image. I lowered the red and yellow while raising the blue, cyan, and magenta. Overall the grayscale tool allowed the image to become black and white while still keeping the shades of the image.

Image Rotation:

I took this photo at the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Pisa Italy. The photo on the top is the raw photo from my camera and the photo on the bottom was edited using image rotation. I went into image rotation and choose the arbitrary tool. From there I counterclockwise rotate the image until the tower was straight with the ruler. Then I crop the photo to make the photo rule of thirds and to make the image look even on the edges. Lastly I used the spot healing brush to take out a couple of satellites that were in the distance make the picture more natural.  Overall I rotated the leaning tower of pisa to the not leaning tower of pisa.

Blending Modes:

I took this photo from atop a hill of the Eiffel Tower with the lights on. The photo on the top is the raw photo taken from my camera with the photo I blended in. The photo on the bottom was edited using blending modes. I first used the spot healing brush to get rid of the giant cross in the center of the photo. After that place embedded the image of the stars in photoshop. With put the image over the sky and lowered the opacity. Overall I wanted to have stars in the sky behind the Eiffel Tower and I think it came out nice.
